James "Wolverine" Logan
Name: James Howlett, or James Logan Nicknames: Logan, Wolverine, Jimmy Age: Over 200 years old Birthday: Unknown Species: Mutant Canon or Original: Canon Fandom: X-Men Movie Series
Play By: Hugh Jackman Height: 5’2’’ Weight: 300 pounds Eye color: Blue Hair color: Black Body type: Muscular
Likes: Cigars, motorcycles, personal time/space, bladed weaponry, alcohol, and learning things Dislikes: Severe unneeded bloodshed, not remembering his past, Magneto, anything or anyone that is anti-mutant, hospitals, Sabertooth, flying Habits: Often destroying surrounding inanimate objects; weather on accident or on purpose. He’s a smart-alec. Fears: Never getting his memory back, opening up to somebody – only to lose them again, to forever be haunted by his nightmares Strengths: Resilient, going into a berserker rage upon his foes, his abilities, years of studying Weaknesses: Stubborn, withdrawn, short temperament, being magnetic
Powers: Healing Factor: Logan has the ability to heal from his injuries at an amazing pace, even nerve cells. This ability has saved his live on numerous occasions and helps increase his stamina and general physical resiliency. Even if cells become damaged during exertion, his can quickly recover. This healing ability has also significantly slowed down his aging process. He’s much older than he looks.
Super Senses: Wolverine has an animalistic quality about him, and this ability has a hand in that. His senses are enhanced far beyond normal human capacity. Out of all of the senses, he uses smell and hearing the most. Often times he sniffs the air, especially if he suspects trouble.
Adamantium: This nearly indestructible metal was injected into his entire bone structure. The metal provides a better structure for his muscles and prevents from breaking. His metal covered bones are far more resilient and can withstand much more potential trauma. The support also allows his muscles to work harder in certain stress filled situations.
Claws: Wolverine looks like an average man, until the skewers pop out of his hands. Three long blades can protrude from between each knuckle. Before the adamantium was added, these were made out of bone. Now they are wicked sharp blades that extend around a foot in length.
Personality: Logan is a man that usually likes to keep to himself. This is often a good idea because his short temper can get him into trouble; not that he can't handle it. He is not afraid to use force when necessary, or when he sees fit. Though he does value lives of humans and mutants alike. He only kills when he sees no other way, or in situations of great emotional revenge. Even then, right before the killing blow, he pauses, and restrains himself.
He's a man usually of few words, and those phrases are usually laced with sarcasm or happen to entail describing very obvious details. He doesn't like to be dragged around, or get caught up in petty drama. Four times out of five he doesn't want to cause trouble, he just wants to be left in quiet repose. He's very reflective, due to his lack of memory; and this greatly troubles him.
Logan has very few people he would consider 'friends'. A more appropriate term would probably describe them as: "people he can deal with", or more so "people that can tolerate him." Due to the fact that people often become injured around him, he tries to keep people at a sort of mental distance. He's been badly burned in the past and chooses to try and keep things, uncomplicated.
This isn't to say that he cannot become emotionally attached to other beings. Once a bond is formed, he is a loyal friend or partner and would easily risk immense pain or his life for their health and safety. Logan while brutish and wild in nature, has moral code that he stands firmly upon.
Mother: Elizabeth Howlett Father: Biological – Thomas Logan, Presumed – John Howlett Siblings: Half brother - Victor Creed aka Sabertooth Other Family: N/A Friends: Jean Grey, other members of the X-Men; very few people in general Enemies: Sabertooth, Magneto, Striker’s men, anti mutant folks that cause trouble Home town: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Current residence: Roaming
History: Whom most people know as "Wolverine" or "Logan", was born as James Howlett in the mid eighteen hundreds. He was a very sickly child in his young years, apparently constantly afflicted by diseases. James and his parents were quite well off, in the context of money. Besides his string of illnesses, he had a good life. Though everything changed in 1845.
Their grounds keeper, Thomas Logan was drunk and causing problems. Thomas shot and killed young James's father. In a fit of rage James attacked the older man, extending his bone claws for the first time. He killed Thomas, who shortly before death, revealed that he was Jame's true father - instead of John. He ran away, easily being caught by an older boy, whom was also a son of Thomas Logan. Victor convinced him that they should stick together, sense they were brothers, and they did.
Together Victor and James roamed the earth, defending and protecting one another. Over they years they eventually joined the military. The two dominated over their foes as a viciously effective, and brutal team. Both men being mutants with healing abilities also provided amazing assistance in their efforts to destroy the apposing side in both World Wars, and later Vietnam. It was in Vietnam that Logan's suspicions about his brother were staring to clearly arise.
Logan fought in the wars for the noble causes; duty, honor, protecting freedoms. He suspected that Victor did it because it was...fun for him. While deep down he could not deny that he liked to knock around people, killing so viciously without purpose or good cause did not rest well with the younger half brother. In Vietnam Victor was losing his control, attempting to rape a young Vietnam woman and then later bashing his fellow soldiers for trying to stop him. Victor killed their commanding officer, Logan tried to stop him from killing anybody else, and soon the rest of the soldiers surrounded them.
Captured and sent to a firing squad. Due to their healing powers neither sibling were destroyed. They were put in a make shift jail cell and then visited by a man named Stryker; who was quite interested in their abilities. Both of them join Stryker's group - Team X. But history has a tendency to repeat itself.
Due to the brutal nature of Stryker's orders, Logan quits the team and wanders off to live a less violent life. He finds himself in a relationship with a lovely teacher named Kayla Silverfox. Logan takes up working in the lumber industry. Stryker finds him again, informing him that his brother has gone rogue and has been killing the other members of the team; people who he once considered friends. Logan, though saddened, ignores this until Victor kills Kayla.
He goes back to Stryker and signs up to be altered, to give him an edge against his brother. Logan then goes through a very painful procedure that applies a rare metal to his bones. He barely survives the event. Stryker gives an order to wipe out Logan's memories, but having heard him he rebels and escapes. The only problem is, he wants to get revenge upon Stryker and doesn't know where the place he escaped from.
Upon several violent encounters later, he gets some help from other mutants and finds "The Island" again. Upon finding Stryker he also learns that Kayla wasn't really dead. He had been tricked so he could have been experimented upon, akin to the several other mutants that Stryker had kidnapped. Heartbroken he goes to leave, only to return when hearing Kayla scream. Arriving he fights with his brother, but does not kill him. He assists Kayla by giving her time to escape and the other mutants by using himself as a distraction.
Wolverine fights Deadpool, son of Stryker and former team member of Team X. Victor comes to his brother's aid. Upon destroying much of their surroundings Wolverine finds Kayla has been shot. He tries to leave with her, but Stryker shoots several rounds of adamantium bullets into him; two in the skull. Logan does not die, but his memory was erased. He leaves the base, alone, without any recollection of who he is.
Years later he finds himself wandering the world, trying to remember his past. He comes over Charles Xavier, the school, and teams up with the X-Men. But that's a story all it's own.

Role play sample:
"Does it hurt?" He had been asked that several times. He was sure he had been asked it even more, if he could remember. He actually sometimes wish he had kept a tally upon the total that spilled from the mouths of young and old, wise and foolish. Still the question remained upon the lips, of human and mutant alike. To anyone that ever knew who, no, what he was- it had been asked. At some point, eventually, everybody asked it. Even today the question somehow surprised him. Wasn't it obvious?
...Does it hurt?...
It had become a sort of mantra in his head. It reflected sometimes in his dreams. The steady rhythm of each syllable as it slowly slithered out before being sharply cut twice; two piercing consonant fangs that cut into the back of his mind. Then there was usually some sort of wide birth within the conversation for him to reflect. There was much to decide upon how to reply to the question. There were so many senerios as to how he had delt with it in the past; the snappy retort, the violent rage, the piercing stare, or bitter silence.
...Does it hurt...
He didn't know how to respond just yet. He just let in a slow and silent inhale. As if upon some sort of hidden cue the long appendages beneath his arms shifted slightly, as if they knew that somebody was talking about them, as if they had a mind of their own. He settled slightly and slowly curled his fingers to let the tendons and muscles tense under the pressure. The blades were almost spring loaded when his hands were curled into fists. Cocked, ready to jump at the slightest tingling of a neuron.
...Does it hurt...
Every time they extended the metal scraped and sliced over muscle and tendon. The piercing tips carved the way forward, pushing and slicing anything that got in its path. The slow bubble of the familiar burn of being cut open. Well it was worse, being cut open from the inside. Then the familiar popping feeling as the skin between his knuckles gave way to the blades that continued to push forward. The excess and uncomfortable weight that rested lower on his arms, making them feel heavier than they actually were. If used, the deepening concern that he would exert too much force and they would tear backwards to his elbow...
"Does it hurt?" Rogue asked him. He turned his head gravely to the young, curious woman that sat beside him. He only uttered two heavy words. "Every time."
