Characters Appearing: Casey & Open Time of Day: 1pm Location(s): Outside a bar Previous Thread Name/Info: N/A NPCs Used: ----- Plot Summary: N/A ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She already knew that it was a bad idea for her to drink but she needed to get out of the lesson's that she had going through all day, oh she sucked at history. How could she look through other people's history when she couldn't even look through her own? Still she knew the gifted school was just trying to give her the education that she missed not that Casey was thick or anything but she just didn't have the grades. A glass breaking brought her away from her thought's were she stared at a waitress who had dropped the tray, she bend down to help her out yet got a dirty look and was told to shove it. Knowing better that to cause a scene the female mutant gave a quick nod before smiling as she returned to the bar ordering a coke. This bar was the last place she needed to get drunk inside of. The loud noises's served as a distraction though. Most of the room was faced toward's a large television that showed two group's or men kicking a ball from one side to the other, football. She had never been a fan of sport and couldn't understand what was so interesting about it. Sighing to herself at an inaudible tone she tried to find a seat that wasn't taken yet every table was full all having come to watch the game by the look of it. Carey collected her coke deciding that outside was the place to be. Upon leaving she noticed how the sound just disappeared as well as the building there was no living soul outside. "Finally" she said to herself sliding onto one of the benches just as one of the teams scored a goal. Half the Pub seemed to be yelling in excitement while the other half began to shout out swear word's, some Casey had never heard of before. Pulling her denim jacket closer while the wind drafted past she was regretting wearing her short's and her black high heeled boots. "Great Job Casey" she exclaimed noticing how much her accent or the tone of her voice had changed. The female no longer sounded like she had come from Texas instead she seemed to fit right in for the first time in awhile which she was grateful for the chance. She didn't believe in god or anything in that matter although that said someone was looking after her. Casey just wondered why, she wasn't anything that special she hardly had any friend's or family, she was a mutant, it wasn't like she could change the world by turning into a wolf no matter how much she tried to make a difference.[/blockquote] Words: 451 Tagged: Open Comments: Open! Going into a bar caused Lews Therin to immediately perk up in the back of his head. Of course, in his time, as the voice in his head explained, they were called taverns, you could buy alcohol and food at anytime, they provided lodging as well, and you could pinch the bottom of serving wenches.
Eric explained that in this time period, women were people, not objects, then told the voice in his head to shut up or he would up the Prozac. He honestly wondered if he was crazy- every day.
His ID passed muster, of course. It had been well-forged. It wasn't that he was under twenty-one, but because he was hiding. Hiding from an enemy that might not even exist in this world. He yearned to be done with this, to take the fight to his enemies. Unfortunately, that just wasn't possible right now.
He heard a glass break and turned, his paranoia causing him to seize control of his magic. Of course, of course, it was nothing. Besides, the Dark One's servants wouldn't very well announce an attempt to kill him by smashing things...well, unless it was a Trolloc.
He bristled at the way that the way the waitress treated the other woman. There was no excuse for that, even if the young woman had bumped into her. But he didn't need to attract attention.
His waitress came and he ordered a burger, fries, and a sparkly beverage they called Coke. He turned to the young woman who had endured the waitress's fury and offered her a shrug, as if to say he didn't know what her problem was, either.

She fiddled with the brim of her glass for a few moment's taking in the scenery that was around her trying to get used to how everything looked, Bar's weren't really her thing. Even when she was a teenager and it was seen as cool to be within a bar or a club she wouldn't try to get into one, as she preferred the outdoors by far. Casey guessed it was the wolf mutation in her although in Texas she had always' been outside before her mutation began so maybe it was a mixture of the two.
The female noticed a male at the bar who turned and shrugged at her about the angry staff member that she wished she hadn't come across casing a smile to creep across her face as she looked down to the ground out of shyness. Casey wasn't used to talking to people since being a mutant most people didn't want anything to do with her kind so instead she backed away from the population making her even more of an outcast that she needed to be but she knew that eventually she would need to start to meet people again. Beside's she wanted friend's back into her life as without some there would be no point in having one. She gestured for him to sit down opposite her although she wasn't sure if he would take it or not.
Feeling slightly scared she smiled gently not wanting to show her teeth due to the fact that her canine teeth were still larger than a human being's and she didn't think that she would ever be able to change them back, that was the one clue of her mutation. She was thankful however that she had been able to shift the wolf like structure from her face making her at least, at first, appear normal whatever that was. Casey run her hand through her hair while the wind blew through it allowing her to sigh in enjoyment she loved the wind rushing through it not that she knew why or anything.
The mutant wondered if the guy would come outside to where she sat or whether he would just ignore her like most people she saw. The public could be so vain and set on sterotypes she just wished that eventually the human race could grow up, Casey had had to why shouldn't they?

Eric waited as his food was prepared. He wondered if the waitress who had yelled at the woman for no apparent reason would also spit in his food. His own waitress had seemed nice enough. Eric understood she might be under a lot of stress from her job or her personal life, but he had ceased to care for such excuses long ago. He had been the subject of a manhunt led by evil forces and it was up to him to save his world from destruction. That beat any stress the girl could have in her own life.
It seemed like it took forever for his food to arrive, but looking at his watch he realized it wasn't that bad. He had simply been bored and with nothing to do. He bit into his burger with gusto, savoring the taste. He devoured his meal, feeling quite satisfied when the plate was clean. He paid the bill a left a reasonable tip- one that was neither particularly large nor small. Little things like that made you memorable to the restaurant staff, Uldren had taught him, and he had no need to draw attention to himself.
He left not much later. As he came outside, he caught sight of the girl from earlier. She was quite attractive, and it took an effort for him to ignore Lews humming in his head. He decided to introduce himself, even though it violated what Uldren had taught him. He had to live a little at least, right?
"Hi, I'm Eric. That seemed rather unfortunate the way the waitress yelled at you," he said.

Casey nodded as the male finally come over, she thought she would have to sit at the bench on her own talking to herself no less but thankfully someone was willing to talk to her. The first person that had done so out of the mansion after all she still looked slightly like a mutant even if she had tried to cover up that fact about herself. It wasn't easy being a young female with no job in a large city that was so big and still so new let along being a mutant as well, she just wished that people were less basis toward's mutant's. "I'm Casey, nice to meet you Eric" exclaimed the female with a smile not feeling comfortable enough to embrace or shake hand's with the male yet, she after all found it hard to trust people.
"People can be like that" said the female with a small smile "You get used to it after a while, the stare's and the little comments but hey you got to cope in this life right? Be thick skinned and all that" Casey wasn't sure what made her say it but she wasn't one for lying, she had had to lie and cheat her way through to New York just to survive but it wasn't who she wanted to be anymore. Brother or no brother Casey wanted to be an honest female who didn't need to hide herself from the public just because of what she was even if she still asked the same question to herself nearly everyday. Why me?
She run her hand through her hair gently smoothing it out as she thought of what to say next, she was so very new at talking to people. "You come here a lot?" she asked looking over in his direction "I haven't seen you around before is all" The female kind of knew the area and the people that lived close by, she was the kind of person who would check every kind of exit possible before sitting down which she had done almost automatically. It was thing's like that which had kept both her and her younger sibling alive for so long since having left Texas.
The canine mutant sniffed the air slightly trying to get some kind of scent off of the male who had walked over yet the female couldn't get anything from him. Well that was new, still as least he didn't seem to be a mutant hater so she let herself relax slightly into her seat allowing a natural smile to escape from her lip's. "Nice day huh?" exclaimed Casey staring into the sky above her noticing the fact that the sun was beaming upon the pair's expression's.

Eric noticed she didn't shake hands- whatever. She seemed friendly enough, so he didn't take offense at it. Maybe she just didn't like being touched by people.
Once spoken too, she was actually somewhat chatty, and Eric found some of the stress one feels when meeting a new acquaintance evaporate. Especially a very attractive acquaintance.
"Uh, yeah, I guess so." Being thick-skinned...that was something that had become difficult at times since he had begun channeling. He had always been a touch sensitive, but he had never been hot-headed until he began channeling. It was something he had to work on constantly- the world didn't need a guy who could lose his cool easily leading the battle against the forces of darkness.
He turned his mind from his musings as he heard her ask if he came here a lot. Smiling, he teased, "sounds like the beginning of a pick-up line. No, this is my first time here. It sounds as if you're a frequent customer, though."
He nodded at what she said about it being a nice day. Usually saying things like that was just a conversation filler, but it was a nice sunny day. And the Dark One wanted to take that all away. If legend was to be believed, he wanted to destroy the world, to wipe it out of existence. "It is indeed," he replied.

If i guess so was the male's answer then Casey doubted that he had been attacked or shouted at like she had, freak was somewhat of a nickname for her and yeah it hurt but being thick skinned help even if that thick skin was slightly part of her mutation. She was stronger than the average human so despite her size she could look after herself if need be which she often had too, the female just hoped that she wouldn't end someone's life again. She wasn't a bad person. She wasn't a killer. She was just a girl from Texas with a part of her that she couldn't control, surely that didn't make her evil. "Y'all don't seem to think being thick skinned helps" she exclaimed her agent coming through ever so slightly.
She couldn't help but laugh before she nudged the male gently with her shoulder. "It was not a pick up line, now shh" she told him lowering her head so that her hair could fall over her face and hide her features from an embarrassed giggle "Actually I'm not. To be honest i don't come out a lot, i guess i like to keep myself to myself ya know?" It was easy to see that Casey wasn't good around people especially if they tried to touch. She just got flashbacks of what happened to her when she first killed someone and that pain or what he tried to do to her wasn't an easy thing to get rid of. She still hadn't and doubted that she ever would.
"So what are y'all doing here anyway?" asked the female mutant frowning to herself. It was easy to see that he wasn't from around there by the way he acted and how the male could speak, Casey could spot it even without her wolves scent of smell which gave her a weird sensation. She had never smelt anything like it before in her whole life which both frightened her as well as making her quite excited about the whole thing. Not believing in heaven, hell or aliens made the possibilities quite restricted in her eye's so where the hell did he come from? There was only one way to find out. Anyone who knew Casey would know that she did whatever it took to get what she wanted which at that point was exactly where he had come from "Where y'all from stranger?"
Sure it was kind of corny but it made her laugh, she even felt like performing the whole scene from an old movie that she loved with a guy standing in front of a mirror, a gun in hand. You talking to me punk raced through her head allowing a grin to creep across her face she had never felt so happy and for a while at least she felt normal again like never could bring her down. Casey took another sip of her drink as she waited for the male's response wondering if he would tell her the truth or not, that was one good thing about her mutation if there was one. Her enhanced sense's could tell if someone was lying or not. It was useful during scam's, she could tell instantly if they were a fake brand or a real one the Xavier institute owed her a lot for saving their bill's.
