Characters Appearing: Tommy and Dillon Time of Day: mid afternoon Location(s): Streets Previous Thread Name/Info: Distressing for the Day probably...to explain how he got hurt NPCs Used: Occasional citizen...random monster...not much Plot Summary: Just another bump in between the two...hopefully without the monsters and weird beings...but one never knows do they?
"Oh bloody stupid....come on already..." Dillon muttered to himself as he fiddled around with the home made sling that was around his shoulder. It had been only a week since the attack in the park. Only a week since the Grinders appeared out of nowhere and shot him in the shoulder. And he was still here? Really? Seriously? Okay so really he didn't know why he hadn't left yet. With the Grinders in the picture, it was a whole different ball game. With more risks, more dangers and more to loose. He wasn't sure if the Grinders were the only thing that followed him...and he wasn't sure if he liked that. Venjix...the sat bot--any number of the other attack bots...erugh he didn't even want to think about it. Or about what could happen if he got killed in this world...
He was shaken out of his thoughts by someone asking him if he was okay. He glanced up at the older woman who was in front of him. "I'm all right. Thanks anyways." he said politely declining any requests for help as he walked on. Going to the hospital was out of the question for him. Who knows what could happen if anyone found out about the Venjix implants. He didn't want to test his luck. And so he simply bought some gauze and a sling and fixed it himself. Even if the sling was one size too big and kept sliding off his shoulders. Meh--he'd probably get it looked at better when he got home...
That was to say if he got home...
Dillon sighed as he began to realize that he didn't know how to get outta here. And back to Corinth. Back to the other rangers and the team that needed him. Which of course set off a whole another train of thought. What if he couldn't get home? What would happen to the others then? To Ziggy...and Summer...and the rest of those guys. Sure he didn't get along with some of them (mainly Doc K and Scott)...but still...they needed his help and he was pretty useless here...
What a depressing train of thought...

It was about time to find something to do to relax. This week had been stressful for both him and his students. Well he had to give them tests and test week was out of his control to schedule. Now he had to grade every last test. So right now his choices were to go home and deal with them. Or he could go to the Cyberspace cafe and work on them there.
At the back of his mind he couldn't help but wonder why Grinders looked so much like Cogs. Clearly they were made by different people but Dillon never gave him a clear explanation of them after the attack last week. After finding himself going in the direction of the Cyberspace cafe that his friend Hayley owned, Tommy took notice of someone familiar walking along the sidewalk.
Pulling up along side, he arched a brow as he didn't expect to be seeing Dillon any time soon. There was the man he had met a few times in the past walking with a sling. Great. This guy was pulling a him with not getting it looked at. “Hey, stranger, want to go grab a bite to eat? I know this great place not too far from here,†he said as he tossed his briefcase on the back seat of his black jeep.

Dillon went over the mental check list in his head as he continued to walk on. He still had the weapons he brought with him (luckily he hadn't had to use those yet), some food and water for a few days that he had just bought, his morpher and the chip that went with it...well he supposed that was it. It was time to move on. Get outta here...and before any more Grinders showed up. These people didn't deserve to get on those creeps' bad side just because he was around. It wasn't right. It wasn't fair...and it would probably just be better for all if he left.
Of course he wasn't exactly full speed ahead here. And with a good reason (in his mind at least). He was purposely trying to see if he could run into Tommy again. The guy helped saved his skin...and Dillon had been rather wishy washy and not at all honest with his answers when they had run into the grinders at the park with that girl. It wasn't that he wanted to lie--but there was just something about saying that you were from another time and dimension that just sounded...off.
But still--the other had the right to know and so that was why Dillon was walking rather slow like and with no real purpose to his step. He was wandering...yes he was. But he really wanted to make amends before he left...
Of course if the other had found him first--that worked to. Dillon's ears pricked as he heard the starting-to-be-rather-familiar voice. He saw the other and he couldn't rightly believe the coincidence... but he wasn't complaining..."Hey. I was...actually hoping to run into you before I left." he said nodding as the other offered to get him some food. More time to explain himself really. He climbed into the back of the jeep and then they were off...

After Dillon got into the passenger side, Tommy pulled away from the curb and began heading towards Cyberspace cafe. He focused on driving until halfway there. “So how bad is your arm?†he asked, a bit worried. The mentor/friend side showing through but he was also curious. Maybe if it wasn't that bad him or Hayley could help to fix it.
It did seem a little odd that he had been hoping to run into him before he left town. Tommy wasn't sure what he meant but would find out soon enough. With no Grinders, Tyrannodrones, or monsters attacking the town it was kind of relaxing. It wasn't much longer when the science teacher pulled into a parking lot near Cyberspace cafe. “Well we found each other, so there's plenty of time to talk.â€
Tommy reached in back for his briefcase and began walking towards the front door. He didn't mind being one of the oldest people inside the building. Since mostly the high school students hang out at the cafe. Heading inside, he went over to a small table and sat down. The owner, Hayley, came over and handed out menus. “Take your time to order,†she said with a pleasant smile.
“Will do, Hayley.†Tommy already knew what he would order but figured to let Dillon take his time to decide. “Pick anything you want to eat. So why were you looking for me?â€

Dillon merely responded with a one sided shrug as the other asked him if his arm was bad or not, "Oh its not that bad. No broken bones or anything like that. The sling is only there to stop me from moving it around so much and let it heal." it wasn't like it was feeling one hundred percent perfectly fine...but it could have been worse. A lot worse. And so Dillon was not complaining one little bit about it. He pondered for all of two seconds why the other wanted to know...but soon brushed it off. Most anyone who cared about other people would have probably wanted to know what happened. He wasn't taking it as anything off...
Dillon glanced up at the large sign over the doors as they got to their destination. Hayley's Cybercafe? Huh...sounded like as good a place as any. Dillon had to admit though--when they walked in, it was a bit...well it was...different. Not that it was a bad thing. There was just--nothing really like this in Corinth. Sure they had places for people to meet in and all, but this was different. Everyone seemed like they were actually having fun. And without the proverbial storm clouds over their heads.
They sat down and Dillon gave a acknowledging nod towards the woman as she approached them and gave them each a menu before walking off. The other spoke up again and Dillon couldn't help but mentally laugh...
Well wasn't that getting right to the point? Dillon figured it would come sooner or later though and so now was it. The time to be honest here, "I wanted to apologize to you about what happened the other week. I know I wasn't exactly being straight with you. And I wanted to...I duuno set things right...I guess before I left." he said with a slight uncertainty to his tone. He didn't know what he wanted to to really...but he owed it to the guy after all...

It seemed a little serious to Tommy as Dillon's shoulder should of healed by now. Unless it was a very deep bruise. Things like that took time to heal and was painful for more than a few days. Yet it still didn't seem right to him. “If it's dislocated and you haven't fixed it. I can fix it for you. Unless that is not the problem with your shoulder,†said Tommy.
He absentmindedly looked through the menu Hayley had left him. Something to do but also wondered why he was looking for him. Sure he trusted the man so there probably would be no back stabbing. With Mesogog around, he would bet if Dillon acted any more stranger he could have been brainwashed by that dinosaur-human hybrid.
So he listened as he spoke while he glanced over to the side of the room where a group of computers were lined up and some kids making a commotion over something. “No need to apologize. I'm just surprised you haven't had a run in with any of our enemies here. It is strange how those things got here when they have never been seen before. And you know you don't have to leave right away,†he said with a faint smile.
So this is it? A final farewell? At least this guy has a heart otherwise he could of just taken off and never bothered to find Tommy to talk to him again. “You can always crash at my place or Hayley will let you stay at hers if you asked.†There was more he wanted to talk about but would need to be in a more private place. Mainly the fact Hayley is on the Power Rangers side and is trustworthy.

Dillon shook his head slightly a the other offered to look at his shoulder, "Nah I'll be all right." he said. Though he appreciated the offer, it really wasn't all that bad. Seriously. And besides it wasn't like he didn't know what was going on anyways. He knew. He knew why his shoulder wasn't healing like a normal person's. And well that was because he wasn't like a normal person. He was very well not normal in that case. The laser bullet had ricocheted off of the Venjix plate in his shoulder. That was why it was so painful. That was why it wasn't looking right to the normal person's eye. But he didn't feel like having to explain that to Tommy if he was to be honest here. Of course it wasn't something he liked explaining to people in general (cause how does one really explain to people that their half robot?) and so it wasn't just Tommy.
Dillon fiddled around with the menu as he suddenly found himself not quite as hungry as he thought he was about ten minutes ago. All he had wanted to do was apologize, say good bye and leave. He could always eat later. But now he was coming to the realization that maybe he didn't want to leave. But he knew that he had to. He had no choice. And not to mention the whole should-I shouldn't-I thing was very annoying....
The man's eyebrow rose as he mentioned "their enemies". Their enemies? He mentally made a face. Shoot...he didn't really want to run into their enemies. The Grinders were enough of an enemy for him please and thank you very much. The other made it seem like he was lucky not to have run into anything else around here...and Dillon was okay with that. But now it was even more imperative that he got outta here and quick. He certainly didn't want that luck to change.
"I--" Dillon opened his mouth to start to protest but the other kept offering him things and he wasn't sure what to say. He mentally sighed as he shook his head. He appreciated the offers. Really he did. But-- "I can't stay' he said with determination...as if he was telling himself that just as much as he was telling Tommy. "I can't risk anyone. The Grinders are after me...and we might be able to fight them off....but what about them?" he jerked his head to the side indicating that he was talking about everyone else in the cafe. "I just can't do that to people."
