Characters Appearing: RJ and Dillon Time of Day: Noon Location(s): Woods within Ocean Bluff Previous Thread Name/Info: N/A NPCs Used: Possible Rinshi Plot Summary: RJ takes a hike in the woods and finds something or someone unusual.
Ah, nothing like being lost in the woods. Not like RJ could get lost when he knew them well. Just how to look at things with his little hiking trip. The others had the option to join them than run the pizzeria, but they seem rather interested in working than go with him. Probably the fear of what he could have them end up doing as far as training goes. Well it seemed to be a win-win situation as he gets time off and his business still earns money.
Stopping in a small clearing, he put down his backpack and took a seat. His stomach ended up telling him it's time to have a snack. Opening his backpack, he pulled out a wrapped sandwich and a bottle of water. Eating happily while at peace with nature was RJ's thing. Nothing was disturbing his good aura right now. Not even a peep from Dai Shi or the Phantom Beast Generals today. A little worrisome yet meant that Ocean Bluff is safe.
“Nothing but nature out here,†said RJ as he finished eating. “Shame not everyone can or will enjoy it.†Sounds of birds chirping and other animals roaming around made him at ease. So far nothing seemed out of the ordinary and he hoped it continued to be that way.

You'd figure for as much as he had traveled aimlessly by himself, that Dillon wouldn't mind getting lost every once in a while.
Well wrong! You would be wrong! Very wrong!
Cause Dillon hated getting lost! He hated not knowing where he was. And he hated being the only human (esque) thing around cause the animals certainly weren't going to be of any help! It wasn't like he could talk to them after all. The half human/half robot man grumbled as he wandered through the woods. He would look around hoping that there would be a clue as to his whereabouts...but so far nothing. Not one single clue. Just where was he anyways? Of course he didn't know the answer to that. Just fantastic! Sarcasm duly noted.
Dillon sighed softly as he leaned against a large tree. He still had his bag on his back...but all he had in that was a map, a compass and a few weapons if he needed them. No food and no water...oh this was just bloody great. And he tried the compass already...but he was sure that it only got him more lost. Cause it didn't seem to be working properly here. Just another insult to injury now. For some odd reason, the karma god just did not like him today. And they wanted to keep him lost...he was sure of it.
Dillon was brought out of his thoughts when he heard a voice. It was barely audible and a bit of distance away--but there it was. It was a person. Oh happy days...a person! Hopefully they could tell him where he was. And the directions to the nearest place where he could get some food and water until the next place he reached. Oye this nomad thing was getting old...man how he wished he was back in Corinth City...
Dillon walked on--making a beeline towards the voice, "Hello? Hello?! Anyone out there?" he called out--hoping that they would hear him. Cause he was up the creek without a paddle here if they didn't...

Furrowing his brows, RJ thought he heard someone calling out. Way out here? Impossible unless it was a hiker lost. His students would of just called over his wolf morpher. The sounds of foot steps caught his attention and they were human. At least he hoped they were but he knew well enough they weren't Rinshi. Grabbing his backpack, he got up from his spot and took off to where he figured the person would be at.
A minute later, RJ noticed a man dressed in black coming his way. He gave a friendly smile to the man. “Ah, so there was someone calling out after all. I was beginning to worry if I was hearing things. You can call me RJ,†he said. “And you appear to be lost.†It was not hard to read the man's expression. At least he managed to get lost on a day that RJ is in the woods.
Shrugging his backpack off his shoulder, he dug in it and pulled out a wrapped sandwich, tossing it to Dillon. He had no idea how long the man was out here but he was generous enough to share his food. Good thing he packed more than enough. “If you're still hungry after that I have more.â€

Hallelujah!
Finally something goes right for him! Dillon heard the voice and mentally let out a huge sigh of relief. There was someone around here. Awesome! Hopefully someone who lived here and could tell him where he was--or at the very least guide him to town. That way he could figure out where he was then and stock up on supplies. Kill two birds with one stone ya know? But knowing his luck--Dillon wouldn't be too surprised if this guy was just as lost as he was. Cause karma just seemed to hate his guts like that!
Dillon froze as the man seemed to have popped in out of nowhere. The guy looked unassuming enough--but Dillon knew better then to judge a book by its cover. This guy could be a ninja master for all he knew. Though that wasn't likely...maybe...geesh he sure hoped not. Good god what was wrong with him? Getting so worked up over this before he had even spoken to the guy. Bah! 'Just relax already. You can take him on if things get ugly.' Dillon told himself in an effort to stop his spinning mind with all of the thoughts and twirling. It was enough to make anybody green around the gills.
The man---err RJ actually--tossed him something and Dillon easily caught it. It was then he realized what it was---a sandwich! Oh Jesus--he didn't have to do that! But he already had it and his stomach was grumbling its protests to the lack of food and Dillon muttered a quick 'thanks' as he unwrapped it and ate it slowly, "Beautiful place." he said in a rather crummy attempt as small talk, "Name's Dillon by the way. You wouldn't happen to know where we are would ya?" oh please say yes, please say yes, please say yes!

Dillon seemed as cheerful as a dead fish. That was saying much since Theo only had a little more cheer depending on the situation. RJ would have to try and fix this man's out look on life. Just not as forceful as a Jehovah's Witness and make sure he was subtle about it. Not like it would be the first time he would be considered a hippie or whatever Dillon would suspect once he got to know him better.
“It is beautiful, isn't it? Sad to see that many people don't bother to take time to actually go outside and see the beauty.†RJ looked around as if admiring the scenery, a big goofy smile on his face. Seriously this is why he is a Pai Zhuq master in order to keep balance in nature and humanity. Other than the fact it ran in his family with his father being Master Finn.
“Of course I know where we are at, dude. I can always take a longer hike another day,†he said not caring that he'd have to cut his hike a bit short for today. Dillon may not want to stay out here much longer if he had been lost for quite some time. “Just follow me and I'll lead you out of these woods.†He began to start walking in the direction of Ocean Bluff. Well the civilization part of Ocean Bluff.

Yeah, yeah, so Dillon wasn't the happiest person on the planet. He never was and he probably never would be. It was a matter of perspectives really he supposed. He knew next to nothing about himself, his past or anything really. He got shanghaied more or less into this ranger job (that he didn't really want to begin with, but it was either that or jail...it was no choice). And every day it felt like he was getting barraged by memories or things that he thought he knew but it made no sense. It was maddening when you think about it. So happy? Yeah not so much. But could you really blame him.
Dillon simply nodded in agreement as RJ spoke. Yeah nature is a beautiful thing indeed. And a lot of people take it for granted he felt like. Huh--they didn't know what they were missing. And when you live in a gigantic upside down fish bowl more or less surrounded by a desert wasteland with not a life in sight for as far as you can see--you tend to miss things like that. Sure they had parks and lakes inside the city and all. But it wasn't the same to him. The difference in areas like that and like a forest or the woods (like this)--the freedom to roam about....there wasn't much that beat that.
Dillon simply nodded as he began to follow the other to this...place. He really needed to stock up on some supplies. Otherwise he wasn't going to make it out here, "So what exactly is this town your taking me to anyways?" he asked...knowing that more likely he would get a name he had never heard of before. But meh...it was par for the course he supposed. And so on he walked....

“Ocean Bluff,†replied RJ. “You'll like it there.†Surely things won't end up getting worse on their way to the town. One could never predict the exact time that Dai Shi would attack. So RJ kept on guard while being a tour guide for this man. At least being a tour guide is an easy task since he didn't have to point out every little thing and explain what they are to him like a little kid.
“So would you like a tour of the town when we get there first or head straight to my pizza parlor?†Obviously the order did not matter to him since he left the others in charge. They haven't acted like a bunch of animals in disarray which is why he trusted them. Once was enough to get people to work together and he got Casey to understand his leadership position on the team. RJ was still the owner of Jungle Karma Pizza though.
"So where are you from?" he asked, trying to make light conversation. Sure he can enjoy the peace and quiet like an unnatural person. But everyone needs someone to talk to still. Boy, was this guy the life of the party.

"Right. Sounds like an interesting place." Dillon said, simply nodding as RJ spoke. But on the inside, he couldn't help but mentally groan. Ocean Bluff huh? Just as he figured...yet another place he had never heard of before. He was seriously regretting checking out that odd little thing now. He was a ranger--he should have known that it was only going to end badly. That nothing good was going to come out of that. But hindsight was twenty-twenty he supposed--well so they said. He knew what he shouldn't have done only after he did it already (of course). And now he was just having to deal with it.
Dillon tilted his head for a moment thinking as the other spoke again. Tour of the place? Or food? Hmm well he wasn't going to be staying for too long....so a tour would be kind of pointless. not like he would need any help finding any obscure places. I mean heck how hard would it be to find a place that sold food and water? And well...speaking of food, pizza sounded really good right about now, "Uhh pizza sounds good." he said finally making up his mind...
He looked around--eyes narrowing as he thought he heard something, but he just as quickly shrugged it off. It was the woods. Wind blowing through the trees--an animal roaming about...it was nothing to get all worked up over. And so that was that. He looked back at the other as he asked where he was from. He thought for a second about whether or not he should or shouldn't. Because it was complicated...and this guy would probably think he was crazy---but oh what the heck? "Corinth." he said simply. Well there was no point in not being honest here.
So long as the other didn't ask too many questions beyond that--then it was all cool.

“Corinth? Never heard of the place before,†said RJ as he pinched his brows together in confusion. “So what's it like there?†Maybe if Dillon described his city then maybe he'll remember something about it. Not like he knew every city and town within the world. His spirits raised a bit when the other man mentioned how pizza sounded good. By the time they get back they should be peckish with all the energy they are burning.
Something was wrong. RJ could sense it and his eyes darted around to see if he could see where the danger is. Well there would be no hiding the fact he's a Power Ranger unless he didn't have to transform. Hopefully Dillon would know how to fight and tried not to be surprised with what RJ knows if he asked. The next instant a pack of Rinshi were hopping their way with weapons in their out stretched hands.
Tossing his backpack aside, RJ groaned and looked at Dillon. “Looks like we're not alone, so I hope you have skills to use.†He ran into the fray and began attacking Rinshi right and left with knees and forearm attacks. The creatures began to move more naturally when RJ neared them than their monotonous movements from before.

And of course the other would have had to have asked about it. He had to have been curious. He had to have wanted to know more about Corinth. And where it was and all that jazz. Cause Dillon's luck was just that good ya know. Dillon mentally cringed as the other spoke.
Well wasn't this a predicament?
Dillon didn't think telling the other man everything would be wise. Not only would the other think he was mental, but there was always that chance of someone having less then stellar intentions. If the other knew about where he was from and who he was, there was no telling what could happen. Or even worse would could happen if they figured out he was riddled with robotic implants. It didn't paint a pretty picture in his mind. He just wasn't willing to risk it...or himself for that matter. And so what would he do? He would skirt around the matter. Tell some of the truth but not all of it. As terrible as that may have sounded, it was the best option in his mind. It protected his skin anyways...
"Not surprised. Its kinda out in the middle of nowhere...there's not a lot of people to begin with...and its not on the map so to speak." he said with a half hearted shrug. It was the truth...well most of it anyways. And so he didn't feel too bad. After all he was just leaving out the minor detail of it being in another dimension....that's all. And that was something the other could certainly live without knowing please and thank you...
Of course that was the least of their worries now.
Dillon's jaw dropped slightly as the Rinshi came towards them, weapons out and ready to fight. "You gotta be joking..." Dillon muttered more to himself then to anyone else as he looked around...they were totally surrounded now! Great...this was just great. First he got lost and now he's gonna be attacked by...well whatever these are. He didn't care rightly about what they were as much as he did about taking them down...and without getting hurt.
Dillon nodded as RJ spoke, Oh he had skills all right. These creeps were about to find out how much. Dillon kicked out sending one Rinshi flat onto its back. He kept hitting and kicking out...and ended up with one of their weapons in hand, which he definitely used to his advantage to beat the other ones. "This is crazy. What are these things?!" he asked no one in particular...but still this was way too off to be just a random attack. Something was off...something just wasn't right here...
of that he knew for sure.

Awesome. The dude knew how to fight and actually was pretty good at it too. RJ had to give him credit that he didn't freak out and run away from them. Maybe after they got back to Jungle Karma Pizza he would ask more questions about Corinth. At the moment his mind was focused on fighting off this large group of Rinshi. “They're Rinshi,†said RJ as he flipped sideways to avoid an attack.
Like that was very helpful but he couldn't talk too much with them still ganging up on him. There had to be more to this than meets the eye. So far the Wolf Ranger couldn't figure it out. “Basically like foot soldiers for the main bad guy,†he added after taking down a Rinshi and using the staff to spin in a circle to take down a few more.
An energy blast from a staff from behind caused RJ to stifle a cry of pain and stumbled forward. His back stung but he is able to still fight. “There seems to be no end to them.†So either something was going on in Ocean Bluff or a Phantom Beast General was testing his limit (unaware of the new comer interfering).

Rinshi....right.
Yeah he had no idea what those things were. And yet once again, he did not care. The other didn't have to worry about him running. He had seen stranger things to be sure. And if these creeps though they could scare him...well they had another thing coming! Dillon grunted as he kicked one of the foot soldiers making them trip over and fall to the ground. Then he cause another one to flip head over heels before it too fell to the ground like a sack of bricks. But no matter what he did, what the other did, it felt like they weren't making any dents. Oh this was just insanity! Food soldiers? Main bad guy? What?! Who sent these guys after them? And why? What was going on here? So many questions and no times for answers. Story of his life. And it was beginning to drive him a little crazy here.
Dillon heard RJ's muffled yelp of pain and looked up to make sure the other was okay. Cause it hadn't sounded too good from his ears. It was not a smart move however. He was distracted and one of the Rinshi took a chance and kicked him. Dillon grunted as the blow to the back of his knee sent him staggering forward into a tree trunk. Well that felt good. He looked around and mentally cursed. Oh this was not looking good. It was not looking good whatsoever. They only had one chance. And that was he had to morph and he had to morph now.
Glancing down as the wrist morpher, Dillon mentally cringed. What if this didn't work? Because he was in a different dimension and all? Then they were so screwed over. Well...if there was ever a time to see if he could morph, now was it (oh the wonders of not having to keep your ranger identity a secret). He had to take a chance. Take a risk. And hope it worked. He slid the chip into the morpher and softly sighed. Well here went nothing...
"RPM...get in gear." he called out and boy was he happy to see the black ranger suit on his person when he opened his eyes afterward. Okay now they were in business. Brandishing the Nitro Laser, he waited...waited for them to make the first move.

RJ stood his ground and unleashed his animal spirit in an attack. It probably seemed odd witnessing such a thing. A large semi-transparent wolf leaping out of his chest and swipe a paw at the Rinshi, knocking down a few with each swipe. A few may have been defeated by this attack but not all of them.
As soon as the wolf spirit returned to RJ's body, he ran over to where his backpack was at and dug around in a pocket for his own morpher. Well now that Dillon had morphed first it was alright for him to morph as well. Two rangers against an army of Rinishi.
After pulling out his morpher and putting it on his wrist, RJ looked over at his new Power Ranger companion. “Nice. But I'm more of a purple color myself.†He proceeded to transform. “Jungle Beast! Spirit Unleashed!†In the next moment he was now standing within his Violet Wolf Ranger uniform. “With the Courage of a wolf, Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger!â€
RJ ran back into the action and began taking down more Rinshi. His morpher still on his wrist, which he used to blast a Rinshi coming up behind Dillon. He had a feeling they were about to find out who is behind this attack soon. Also debating if he should get in contact with Casey and the others yet knew they can handle themselves.

"Nitro Sword."
Dillon had converted the laser gun into its sword mode and then went on the attack. One down...two...five....six...and on and on and on. Dillon mentally made a face. Man they just kept coming and coming. They were all the same. With the same looks. And the same weapons. And the same moves (most of the time anyways). And the same....everything else it appeared like! They were freaking relentless. Dillon was on edge. The cookie cutter way these things all looked alike set him on edge. It was like robots almost...and it just bugged him. Why? He couldn't really say. They just did.
Dillon's ears pricked as he thought he had heard something and he looked over towards the other. The wolf ... thing...spirit ... (heck he didn't know what it was) went on the attack and he couldn't help but be surprised (though it wasn't all that noticeable with his helmet in the way). Now that was definitely something you didn't see everyday. But as he got kicked in the back and then slashed in the side by several of the Rinshi--he realized then that he didn't exactly have time to sit and be surprised.
Then the other said something about purple...something or other. He didn't know and he wasn't exactly paying much attention to it. Sorry...but he was a bit more focused on not getting his clocked cleaned. But he certainly took notice when the other morphed. 'Whoa. Another ranger? Heh Works for me.' he gave a mental shrug. Hey any help was a good thing right? Right. And specially with the relentless way these things just never stopped coming at them.
But then they all stopped...and the ones that weren't down on the ground and defeated just stood there. What in the--? This was different. Dillon's muscles tensed up as he stared the creeps down...his sword still brandished. He glanced over at the other, "Something tells me we're bout to meet the ringleader of this little circus here." he said as he looked around and waited for...well whatever was going to happen...
