Sookie walked down the road, the last thing she remembered was going with Claudine. She didn’t know how she got back here, why she was back here but she was. Sookie looked around and sighed. She really couldn’t believe that Bill was there just so that he can learn everything about her. She believed that he loved her, and she loved him but she just couldn’t anymore. She didn’t know what to do now. She was tired of being used, by him and by Eric. It wasn’t that she didn’t like to help, she just felt differently about it now. The only vampire who seemed to really show he cared was Godric and he is gone now.
Sookie continued to walk. She continued to think about her life and everything and everyone else’s thoughts were just background noise. She wasn’t listening in right now. Sookie wondered if she should return home now. Jason was probably worried about her. Sookie just continued to walk and realized that she didn’t recognize this place at all. Where was she? It was definitely not Bon Temps. Sookie looked around some more and shook her head. She would just have to keep walking, pretend like she isn’t lost until she finds someone she thinks she can remotely trust. That was hard for her to come by now a days. The blond still kept her head up as she continued on her way.

A line of silver light appeared in the sky, twisted, and expanded. Eric Thornton stepped through the Gateway, emerging in a small wood. The portal flashed out of existence. Eric glanced near his foot to see a cleanly severed tree limb. That was the problem with Gateways- they severed space. Anything that was in the way of one was cut through at a molecular level. Put one in a populated area, and you were likely to kill someone.
The other weakness, of course, was that you had to be familiar with your destination before you could Travel there. Fortunately, Eric and his Warder had been through here before. They had traveled a great many places before settling in the obscurity of the Big Apple.
His Warder, of course, had forbidden Eric from Traveling without him. Even with magic, there were things that could be immune to magic or could block his use of it. That was the whole point of Warders, after all- to protect Aes Sedai when magic wasn't enough.
Of course, he had an expert swordsman floating around his head and his own combat training. Plus, he was supposed to be viewed by people as nearly invincible. Having a bodyguard ruined that image. So Eric ditched his babysitter and teleported to the other end of the country. His Warder would sense the treachery through his bond, but there would be nothing he could do about it.
Eric moved farther into town. He caught sight of a bewildered-looking blonde woman. "Lost?" he asked. He didn't let his guard down- she could be a Darkfriend, after all. But he saw no reason not to try and help her if he could.

Sookie looked around and stopped. She let out a sigh and decided that it was just about time to find someone to see if she could borrow a phone or maybe all she had to use was the telekinetic abilities she had and call Tara or someone, but that seemed to escape her brain. She let out another sigh and she shook her head and continued to walk. She knew that eventually she would hit home, hit some where she recognized, and go from there, use a phone and call Jason. She folded her arms across her chest and she looked down at the ground as she walk.
There was a strange sight of light and Sookie turned around. Of course the blond half human, half fairy was curious and interested. She saw a man, a young man. She tilted her head to the side and she stepped closer. She had her usual dorky grin on her face as her curiosity continued to peak. She stopped about four feet away from him and just stared. He had then asked if she was lost.
“what are you?” Sookie asked curiously, completely ignoring his question on if she was lost. She shook her head and she smiled warmly to him. “yeah, a little lost but I will find my way, as always. What about you, where did you come from, who are you?” Sookie replied, continuing to ask questions, and then realized she was doing so. “oh, I don’t mean to come on strong like that…” Sookie then said with an apologetic look on her face.

What was he? The question automatically set him on-edge. What kind of question was that? He summoned the void and the flame. Emotion fell away and his senses were heightened. He prepared to blast her away if necessary. He wrestled with saidin, mastering the primal magic.
Lews Therin, of course, was no help. He was simply humming away. That meant the old man was either addled or didn't view her as a threat. He wasn't going to risk his life on Lews being right.
"I'm simply a fellow human," Eric replied. "I'm Eric." He held out his hand. He decided to ignore her other questions- after all, it wasn't really her business. "And who are you, that asks what people are instead of who?" She could have simply misspoke, but Eric was inclined to believe it was either a Freudian slip or she had meant it as it was said.
Her question probably ruled out her being a Darkfriend, however. No one who served his enemies would be so stupid as to attract his attention by asking such an odd question.

Sookie just stared at him. She smiled. He was simply something else and didn’t believe him when he said that he was human. Humans just don’t appear like that, out of nowhere. Sookie was just happy that she finally met someone who didn’t appear to be like a vampire in anyway. Sookie had then pulled up the back end of her right shoe that was slipping off. She really didn’t like wearing flats like this. She would much rather be in gym shoes. The young blond southerner tilted her head to the side. He introduced himself as Eric. She smiled and stepped closer, holding out her hand, being polite. “I’m Sookie, Sookie Stackhouse. Its nice to meet you Eric.” Sookie replied to him, now introducing herself. She felt really embarrassed about asking what it was but it was a perfectly good question to ask.
“I’m really sorry about that, I guess it was a bad question to ask. I guess I asked the questions because of the whole vampire, werewolf, shape shifters, everything that I thought didn’t exist is now everywhere. Well been everywhere for a while. Sorry, long story.” Sookie shrugged, her face turning a little pink. She didn’t know what to say after that question. She let out a sigh and she looked around. “so where are you from then? If you don’t mind me asking. I feel bad about asking so many questions, your turn, ask me some.” Sookie continued to ramble to him. She then shut herself up. She gave him an awkward smile.

Maybe it was his imagination, but Sookie's smile seemed kind of condescending. He'd gotten a lot of those when he first began to announce he was the Dragon. Of course, he couldn't really blame them. He hadn't believed it himself for a long time.
Well, maybe it wasn't exactly the same. Sookie's smile seemed more amused and welcoming than anything. Maybe he was just waxing poetic, trying to interpret a smile.
"My name is Eric Thornton," he told her. He had a couple aliases as well that he was using to hide from Darkfriends, but Eric didn't worry about that now. He didn't plan to stay in town long enough to be tracked down, and he could vanish without a trace if he ran into trouble.
Besides, he was getting tired of running and hiding. He just hoped he didn't let his guard down and end up dying in a rather stupid manner.
He wasn't exactly sure what she was talking about in regards to vampires and werewolves, but he nodded anyway. He knew that vampires were a bit like gholam- blood-drinking monsters that were quite hard to kill. He had never run into one personally, though. They seemed like one of the Forsaken's or Dark One's experiments, though vampires were apparently humans at one point prior to death.
Sookie's prying did kind of irritate him, but he remembered Elyas saying that the people down south were irritatingly friendly. "New York," he said. He had easily mastered the accent of that area, it being somewhat similar to some of the urban accents he had heard in his own world.
He cocked his head. "If you are lost, but you are close enough to travel on foot, then you must live relatively close by," he inferred.

Sookie looked at the man and she tried so hard not to read his mind. That wasn’t going to last long though. Sookie could barely control it. She looked at him. He thought her smile seemed more amused and welcoming than anything. That was good. that’s what she was aiming for. She wanted to be welcoming, she had just met him. He hadn’t given her a reason not to hate him, not to not want to welcome him to Louisiana, if they were still there. It looked as if they were. Sookie smiled when he introduced himself. She could tell he had no idea what she was talking about. That was weird. Vampires were all over the news. They were trying to get equal rights with humans, which Sookie thought wasn’t a bad thing at all. She hoped that the politicians and everyone were making progress. She just hated the vampires she has met, well except Godric.
She smiled when he said he was from New York. Sookie had never been there, she had only been in the south, and well Mississippi. She would love to see the city though. She just heard that it was really noise and dirty there in New York City. “that’s only if we are in Louisiana, I really don’t know where we are.” Sookie said with a small and disappointing shrug. She was with Claudine and then nothing, well nothing led to here. Sookie couldn’t remember. “if we are though, I can call my brother to come get us and take us back to Bon Temps and you can figure out where you want to go from there. Sorry I cant help you much.” Sookie then said with a small apologetic smile.

Eric grew alarmed. "You mean you have no idea where you are or how you got here?" It reminded him of his own experience when he had been transported out of the world he knew. Had they both somehow hopped into a parallel dimension?
He knew about parallel dimensions from school and from what he had learned from Aes Sedai regarding the Wheel of Time. He could understand how some cosmic glitch could cause him to hop worlds instead of across space while he was Traveling, but how could the same thing happen to Sookie? He could tell by looking at her face- she didn't have the look of Aes Sedai about her, so she couldn't Travel.
If Sookie did come from another world- or if she belonged in this one and had somehow just ended up being teleported to a random location- well, that was bad. And it confused him greatly. Did this have something to do with him being ta'veren, one of those who shaped the Wheel of Time? He had heard they sometimes had strange effects on the world around him. Or was it perhaps a sign that the Dark One was seeking to break free of his prison once again? He queried Lews for answers, but found the man silent. Damn the man, never there when Eric wanted him and always there when he wanted him gone.
"I won't need a ride. I, uh, have my own means of transportation." He couldn't really tell her that he could teleport. He yearned to get back to Uldren, his warder.
And yet, if this woman was truly in the situation she claimed...well, she would be just as confused and helpless as he had been when first arriving in this new world. And Uldren would want to know why people were popping up in random places for no reason. So he would follow Sookie for now, if she needed his help.
