Characters Appearing: Kimberly and Jacob Goodnight Time of Day: Midnight Location(s): Cemetery in California Previous Thread Name/Info: N/A NPCs Used: None Plot Summary: A moment of honoring her late father's memory is interrupted by someone Kimberly has never met before...
~*~*~*~*~
The digital clock hit 11:45 at night, and it was at that time that the clock's alarm started going off. A slender hand reached out and hit the button to shut it off before it moved back to a person's face to rub the sleep out of their eyes.
Kimberly Hart sat up in the bed, pausing for a moment as her body woke up. She'd gone to bed around seven, and slept soundly for four and a half hours. She had considered just staying up late for the trip she had, but decided a nap would be a better idea. She'd gotten up very early in the morning, and she didn't want to be so exhausted that she fell asleep before midnight and missed out on it.
Five minutes later, Kimberly was out of her house and driving, dressed in jeans and a white tank top. The streets were empty, as she'd expected this time of night. She had a reason for going out at midnight. It was a day that was very personal for her, and she'd always felt that it was better to start when the day began, rather than after she woke up when the day had been going for several hours.
The drive wasn't a long one, and just a few minutes before midnight, Kimberly parked her car in the city's cemetery. She reached in the passenger seat for the bouquet of roses she'd purchased earlier in the day and stepped outside. She walked quietly through the headstones until she reached her destination and knelt down before it, placing the roses in a vase and turned her gaze to the name carved into the stone.
"Hi Daddy." She said softly, her hazel eyes shinning with tears. Today marked the eighteenth anniversary of his death, and despite the amount of time that had passed, it was never easy for Kimberly. She was so young when he died, but old enough to know who he was, and she missed him terribly. Every year since his death, she'd always honored his memory on the day that he'd left her and her mother, and now that she was back in California, she included going to his grave as part of her plans to honor his memory.
"I still miss you." She said, the tears starting to fall from her eyes. "There's been so many things I've want to tell you for so long."
Though Kimberly had kept the truth of her being a Power Ranger a secret from her mother, she'd always believed that she could have trusted her dad with it. In the precious eight years she had with him they'd had a very close relationship, and as a child, she'd told him everything. Now, she could only tell his headstone.
"Things are going well now..." She said. "Tommy and I are together again... I still love him, and... he said he felt the same way. I don't know what's gonna happen, but... I'm really glad to have him in my life again."
She paused for a moment, the tears suddenly starting to come more.
"I'd give anything to have you again." She said through her tears as she lifted a hand to the headstone, touching the name and the quote below it.
Miles Hart Husband to His Queen and Father to His Princess

Jacob had decided to bypass any attention he might get by cutting through a cemetery, though why would anyone pay attention to him at midnight was anyone's guess. It wasn't a terrible looking place, but there was definitely an eeriness to it that even the towering behemoth could feel as he stalked onwards. He paused a minute in his walk, his mismatched eyes scanning the graveyard while his ears listened to the sounds of the night which consisted of the insects that called the land home and the distant noise of traffic. It was eerie but it was peaceful even for a monster like Jacob Goodnight. His strange eyes came to rest on a lovely angel statue which was kneeling before the final resting place of a individual he had no issue in, but the statue held his interest. If humans were only like statues, they wouldn't be sinners and he didn't have to punish them. He had to punish them, it was the will of God, at least thats what his mother had told him. 'You are the hand of God,' she would whisper to him, encouraging him to kill. He grimaced as he looked up at the silent stone, his mind going to the less moments he had shared with his mother.
It had pained him, but she was a sinner too and he had to punish her, throwing him onto a sharp spike. The moment she had struck it, he had utterly lost it. She had been the only person he had ever loved, but now he had a demon who claimed to be his protector. Lilith was the mother of demons like his mother had been the mother of the Hand of God. In a weird way he seemed to have twisted all the motherly feeling with Lilith. However, there was something else, after all he was a man with all the hormones and desires of a grown man, though his mother had tried her hardest to restraint it. His thoughts were suddenly captured by the sound of a woman talking. Curious, he slowly crept closer where he heard the voice. It became clear to him who she was talking to, she was talking to the headstone which she addressed as 'Daddy.' Jacob wasn't entirely stupid, he understood she was visiting her father's grave. Seeing and hearing her start to break down, he could feel all the emotions of his mother's death came washing back to him all of a sudden. Angrily he kicked a headstone with an enraged cry, frustrated and sad how things had processed with his mother.

Kimberly knew she had good reason to shed tears right now, but she still hated crying. It often resulted in her getting headaches, so she looked around the small area she was sitting in for distractions. There were a few weeds growing around her dad's headstone, so she wiped her eyes and reached for them, pulling until they came out of the ground.
"Guess I should come here more often, huh Daddy?" Kimberly said. "There's only so much the groundskeeper can do by himself..."
She brushed her hands against her jeans to clear them of the grass and dirt and looked up at the headstone again. A song from a play she enjoyed seeing came to her mind, and though there were a lot of differences between her and the main character, Christine, a song that she sang always struck a nerve for Kimberly. Before even realizing it, she started singing a verse from that song.
"Wishing you were somehow here again Wishing you were somehow near Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed Somehow you would be here."
Suddenly an angry cry from someone nearby caught Kimberly's attention, and caused her to leap to her feet. It was hard to see in the darkness, but Kimberly was able to make out the figure of a large man as he kicked a headstone. Kimberly was shocked to see someone show that kind of disrespect in a cemetery, but her fear at seeing a man that size and that sort of strength (not to mention anger) had taken over. She remained where she was, wondering if he knew she was here too.

Jacob lifted his bald head suddenly, two odd colored eyes looked directly at Kimberly. He knew she was there, she was the reason he had become so upset. Slowly he started towards her, oddly nimble for a man of his size. It didn't take him long to cover the short distance between them. The giant monstrous man came to stand before her. What she would see was a man who was almost impossibly tall, a seven footer, with an impressive frame that would have put some of the creature the former Pink Ranger had fought to shame.
His eyes were mismatched, one being a silvery blue and the other was a dark brown which peered down into Kimberly's hazel ones. He seemed to be searching them for something known only to him. The oddest thing was that the behemoth said nothing the entire time he looked at the former ranger, in fact the only sound he made was his deep breathing. He gently tilted his hairless head as he regarded her, there was definitely something good about her. A quick flash of the Holy Virgin filled his memory before being replaced by the young woman at the grave site. In his twisted mind the 'Pretty lady' was one of the few non-sinners, she had to be protected by the sinners.

Kimberly's hazel eyes widened as the giant of a man walked toward her. He towered over her, by well over a foot, easily. His build was that of a fighter, and it was clear to her that he could easily take down any challenger.
The man had quickly and easily closed the distance between them, his mismatched eyes locking hers in a stare that she couldn't break. Kimberly's breath came in soft, uneven gasps as her heart pounded in her chest. Every instinct was screaming at her to run, but her fear had rendered her immobile.
He wasn't saying anything... Kimberly's fear was only growing. She still couldn't bring herself to look away from his gaze, but there was something about him that was causing her to feel traces of pity and compassion for him as well. The sudden feelings in addition to the fear that was the dominate emotion caused her balance to waver slightly. She took a small step back, her hazel eyes still locked in with his.

Jacob took steps towards her, their eyes locked as if he had entranced her. He continued to say nothing as he approached her slowly retreating form. Gently his hand reached out to her, his fingertips brushing her soft hair. Like Lilith, she was very pretty, but unlike the demon mother, she was pure of heart. Kimberly was seemingly just an innocent woman visiting her dead father's grave. His eyes finally broke the hold they had on her as he lowered them to study the rest of her.
One of his large, bone-crushing strong hands came up to grasp her shoulder to keep her from fleeing from him while he examined her. She had a face that awoke images in his memory of beautiful women in the magazines his mother had caught him looking at and enjoying in the usual fashion of a boy discovering himself. However, when he looked at her, he did not see the sinful creatures his mother had scolded him about. She wasn't a whore or slut like his mother had called other women. Similarly to Kira, she was different then the rest who were sinners. He had already made up his mind, he was going to take her with him.

Kimberly still wasn't registering her mind's order to tell her to run. A frightened gasp escaped her as she flinched as his hand moved to touch her hair. She was trying with all her might to keep from crying, but her eyes were getting glassy. She didn't know who this man was, but his mere presence was terrifying her.
"What do you want?" She asked, her voice small.
The man still wasn't speaking, but thankfully he finally broke the eye contact. Although the fact that he was staring at her body now was only adding to Kimberly's stress. His hand came toward her again, and Kimberly's eyes widened at the sight of his razor sharp fingernails. His hand grasped her shoulder, and it was clear that his strength was indeed very strong.
Run, run now!
Her mind's orders finally broke through. His grasp on her shoulder was strong, but all her years as a Ranger took control of the situation. She grabbed onto his arm with both hands, shifting her hips so she could break the hold and proceeded to run as fast as she could.
She didn't bother to look over her shoulder to see if he was following her, she ran to her car as quickly as she could. She jumped into the driver's seat, turning the keys in the ignition. She cursed out loud as the engine turned over. The car wasn't starting.
Kimberly looked up and could still see Jacob. She didn't take the time to see how much closer he was, but she got out of the car and continued to run.
An open grave was ahead. It was the only place where she could be hidden from sight, so she jumped in. She only hoped he wouldn't see it.
Kimberly reached into her pocket and pulled out her cell phone and scrolled down to Tommy's number and hit call.
She held the phone to her ear, praying he'd answer. But it was late, and there was no answer. He was probably asleep.
"Tommy, it's Kim." She said in a hushed whisper. "I need help... I came to the cemetery to Dad's grave, and there's this guy... he's really tall and big, and... Tommy, I'm scared... I don't know what he wants or what he's planning, he hasn't said a word to me. Please, I need help."
Kimberly hung up her phone, barely breathing. She didn't know where he was, but she had a feeling he hadn't given up on his search for her.

Jacob gently tilted his bald head as she inquired what he wanted. Was it obvious what he wanted? He wanted her, he wanted to keep her close like he had Kira in the Blackwell and the women before her. His mother had always scolded him for keeping them, calling them whores and he needed to destroy them. He had never wanted to do that to those lucky, or unlucky souls he saw as pure or sinless. His mismatched eyes studied Kimberly's body, she was definitely a striking woman with a beauty that seemed as innocent as the Virgin herself. His hands held tightly on her shoulder, trying to keep her there while he examined her. However, he was surprised when Kim was able to break his hold and took off like a scared rabbit. He grimaced as his eyes peered down at his hand like he were cursing it for allowing her to escape.
Quickly his attention returned to the chase, his feet followed hers until he lost sight of her for a few moments then she came back into his view. Once he saw her, he was on her trail again, but much to his dismay she seemed to disappear. It was as if the earth had swallowed her up. He frowned as he stalked about the graveyard, looking for any trace of the ranger. An eerie hush had come over the cemetery, save for the quiet whispers that sounded so close. Carefully he sunk to his knees at the side of an open grave, his sizable hand reached down grasping by hair which he used to drag her out of the hole.
Once he had her out, he laid her out on the soft earth. He knew he had to knock her out somehow, but the question was how should he do it. Jacob cupped his hand over her mouth while his other hand held her nose trying to render her unconsciousness without truly harming her to the point he killed her. It would be a struggle between the two, but Jacob had a good grip on the former ranger. Slowly she slipped into darkness, her athletic body going limp. Carefully he threw Kim over his broad shoulder like a sack of potatoes, carrying her into the night. It wasn't a long walk from the graveyard to his hide-out, a run-down building that looked more like it needed to be bulldozed as soon as possible. He laid her limp body on the floor where he slept. When she would raise she would find she was in a dimly lit room by candles with a mattress in the corner, surrounded by mason jars.
ooc: I was given permission by Elisa to god-mod Kim.
