This incarnation of the Doctor is a lot more alien than his predecessor who was the most human of them all. He's overly eccentric and highly energetic, and when he needs to think, he tells everyone to shut up so he can concentrate. He, like his other incarnations, prefers solving things by negotiation, rather than by using violence. But he can be ruthless when he really needs to be. When it comes to a romantic type of love, the Doctor is completely clueless, almost like he's an awkward young boy who doesn't know what to do when a girl is interested in him.
He's still deeply affected by the results of the Time War--i.e., killing all of his kind in order to destroy the Daleks. The Doctor is always willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good or for his friends. Part of that could very well be because he might actually welcome death, since he is the last of his kind. The Doctor is a genius who can pick up little things that everyone else misses. He's prone to bouts of anger and very loyal to his friends. As much as he hates being alone, he's tired of losing his companions and knows that he sometimes has to let them go before he does destroy their lives.
Mother: Unknown Father: Unknown Siblings: At least one brother who helped him steal the TARDIS when he was a young Time Lord Other Family: None Friends: River Song, Amy Pond, Rory Williams Enemies: Anyone or anything that tries to take over/destroy another planet/the whole universe Home town: Gallifrey Current residence: The TARDIS History:
Not a lot is known about the Doctor's early life. A lot of information about his early life conflicts with what other people believe. He was born on the planet Gallifrey and it was when he was eight-years-old and had to look into the Untempered Schism, a Time Lord initiation rite, he ran away, while his good friend, the Master, went crazy. It was when he broke one of the Time Lords' laws on non-interference that he faced being erased from history. His brother, however, helped him escape Gallifrey by helping him steal the TARDIS.
His eleventh incarnation came about after the tenth him absorbed a vast amount of radiation. The TARDIS was damaged by the energy release and crash-landed in young Amy Pond's front yard. He invited her to travel with him and promised her that he'd be back in five minutes...only he didn't come back for twelve years. The reunion was rather bitter at first but they soon became the best of friends. They had their adventures together alone, eventually picking up her then boyfriend (and now husband) Rory Williams along the way.
After various adventures and certain reveals, like River Song being Amy and Rory's daughter, the end was coming. The Doctor, Amy, and Rory found themselves in a creepy hotel that really turned out to be a prison ship in space. Behind every door was someone's greatest fear and a minotaur was lurking the halls feeding off of people's fears...or so the Doctor thought. He soon realized his mistake and came to the conclusion that the minotaur fed off of people's faith. And the minotaur was ready to feed on Amy's faith in the Doctor, her biggest fear being the Doctor never coming back for her.
The Doctor broke Amy's faith in him, thereby killing the minotaur by cutting off the creature's food supply. The Doctor then dropped Amy and Rory off in front of a new home with a new car. Amy told Rory to go inside, knowing what was coming. The Doctor told her that he was leaving her behind because she was still breathing. He knew that he had to let her go and live her life before he destroyed it, like he had with so many of his former companions. And then the Doctor left in the TARDIS, only to wind up being brought into this sticky situation of fusing worlds.
