RULES
[/size][/color]Welcome to Fusion of Worlds! Before we get to the fun stuff, we just need you to read over the rules. Boring, maybe, but necessary; and if everyone pays attention to them we'll all have a better time.
General Rules:
1. Respect. Show each other respect, regardless of what's going on in the threads. Failure to do this will result in a warning from the staff; repeat offenders risk banishment. Everyone should know the line that should not be crossed when it comes to respect, but if you're not sure, please ask. Being rude to the staff or other members will not earn you points. This applies to the C-Box as well.
2. No Plagiarism. Yes you heard this in school, but it never ends. Quote your sources. If you didn't come up with it on your own, tell us where you found it. We will be watching this carefully.
3. Graphics. Please do not break the layout with your signature or avatar. Avatars should be no more than 100x100 or 150x150. Signature size works best as 500x300. Also keep the moving avatars or signatures to a minimum and reasonable. We do not need seizures going on.
4. Characters that will be allowed are: Comics, video games, TV shows, movies, and books. Animal characters like Aslan are allowed. Same with CGI characters.
5. Characters that will be banned from this site are: Real Life people, reality TV, cartoons, anime, manga, book characters that an author requests no one uses (J.R. Ward, Anne Rice, Dennis L. McKiernan, Irene Radford, Laurell K. Hamilton, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, P.N. Elrod, Raymond Feist, Robin Hobb, Robin, McKinley, Terry Goodkind (list used is from fanfiction.com)).
6. User names. When registering, user names are to be the first and last names of the character you are applying for, or code name if the character happens to have one.
7. Do not sign up with any profanity. All accounts will be deleted on the spot. If any account names are changed to profanity we will issue one warning to change it.
Posting Rules:
1. No God-modding or Power-playing! The most-used rules on EVERY rp site out there that everyone should have memorized. Death, dismemberment or impregnation of a character can only be done with that player's consent. Keep things believable for your character, unless a good reason can be provided to do otherwise. NPC's are fair game to kill off unless it is a canon character being played on the NPC account.
2. Posting limits. Until your character is accepted, posting is restricted to general questions. There is a limit of six characters, but don't create an entire cast if you can't keep up with them. If you want to play with more than six characters please PM the admins for permission. Post length should be at least 200 words. More will be well appreciated, but novel sized posts aren't always necessary. One-liners will only be allowed in the IC Fun and General forums.
Try to be able to post at least once a week; if something comes up and you can't be around (which happens to everybody) please let the staff know or even pass word on to another member to tell the staff what has happened. If you miss an activity check you are allowed to reapply with the character you had before unless someone else has already laid claim, in which case you will just have to choose another character or wait for them to be reopened again.
3. Those Big Ones. Yes. Those huge plot or character development threads that actually get more than three or four people involved. Those tend to include multiple characters per person when they see fit. Once you have decided to join the thread with any character that is not specified for a main plot, you cannot up and leave the thread as it throws everything out of whack. You have chosen to participate! Now you must finish that thread or provide a plausible scene exit. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
3. a) In regards to rule 3, there will be a posting order for site wide plots to determine who posts when. There will also be a discussion on how many days will pass while waiting on someone to post before they end up getting skipped over. This will help keep any major site related plots from stalling out and to keep them moving forward.
4. This site is rated PG-13. Absolutely no smut or porn allowed! Threads found including R-rated material will be deleted and the guilty parties banned for three days. Always fade to black if it gets to the point all clothes are going to be removed. Take it off site if you want to continue the smut portions of the thread. Heavily suggestive pictures within your signature or IC/OOC games are also prohibited. Fully clothed images only! You will be warned once of this when caught posting any type of picture or link on the site, which also includes the cbox. Repeated offenses will end up in being banned for a day. After that you will be banned for a week every single time thereafter.
5. Absolutely no leet speak within the forums. The only exception to this is within the IM threads in the Communications area. Please use moderation though; don't overdo it to the point that no one can even read what you wrote.
6. Grammar and spelling. Please check your posts over; it's easy to skip a word or commit common spelling mistakes when in the heat of creativity. We're not all English majors, and because of that, spell check is our best friend. Using a word processing program is a good way to have that handy, and it allows you to save a post if you end up timed out on the site or if your internet suddenly goes down while in the middle of writing.
