Polishing off his pasta dish, he ordered another but with a different combination. Thank God for unlimited pasta, soup, salad and bread sticks at the Olive Garden. Nibbling on a piece of bread, he began to wonder what was taking Kimberly so long. Hopefully she didn't ditch due to the unexpected interruption. Sure Anton wasn't the most loveable person but he was tolerable at best.
Upon seeing her return to her seat, he smiled. Good. He didn't have to ask someone to check up on her or track her down. Eyebrows pinched together in confusion as she began to talk. Listening intently, Tommy felt his heart begin to pound against his ribcage as adrenaline filled him with what she would say. It was easy to know she was being very serious about this confession.
Taking a drink, he let it sink in before replying. “I still feel the same way, Kim. Seems like it's a lot harder to get over your first love.†He chuckled a bit. “I won't lie though I did love Kat for awhile. Just was never the same depth. But if you can handle my crazy schedule we could try again.†There he said it! It would be up to her if she wanted to date again. After knowing what he's been doing now that kept him quite busy.

For Kimberly, the time since her confession seemed to stretch out and tick by very slowly before Tommy spoke again. Her pulse was racing, and her heart was pounding so hard a small part of her was wondering if Tommy could hear it.
Despite the time that had passed while they were apart, he was always a figure in her mind. She tried dating other people, but at the end of the night, Tommy was the only person on her mind, and in her heart. Many tears were shed over her mistake, and if she had the power to change her past, she'd have made it so she never even left him and the other Rangers behind.
Tommy started speaking again, and a strangled gasp escaped Kimberly as she listened to his words. She was relieved that she didn't feel any anger or sadness over him saying he loved Kat. She was a dear friend, and she and Tommy were together for a good period of time. The thing that she needed to focus on here was the fact that Tommy still loved her, and he wanted to be with her again.
Tears streamed down her face, but she was positively beaming.
"Sorry... happy tears." She said as she wiped the tears from her face. She reached across the table and took his hand. "Of course I want to try again. I don't care what kind of crazy schedule you have... I'll be by your side whenever you want."
She gave his hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it and picking up her fork again so she could finish eating. She was still smiling, and for the first time in a while, her heart was light and happy. Her ears picked up the sounds of the song playing on the restaurant's stereo and gave another smile smile. The lyrics told a very different story about the relationship of the two people the artist was singing about, but a particular line fit very well for her and Tommy.
For right now they're both in love The only thing they're thinkin' of Is that they're finally where their hearts have always been
